A new survey has shed light on the sexual activities of those in England's capital city.

Commissioned by The Telegraph's Stella magazine, and conducted by YouGov, the survey reveals that 15% of Londoners who have lost their virginity have had in excess of 10 one-night stands. That compares to just 10% nationwide.

Despite this, it doesn't seem Londoners have yet perfected the art of the mattress mambo: only 23% of women in the capital say they "always" orgasm during sex, which compares to 32% elsewhere.

People in the capital aren't even doing it very often. According to the research, Londoners who have lost their virginity are doing the deed 8.58 times in an average month. Nationwide, the average sits at a slightly healthier 9.3 times per month.

The new survey has also thrown up a few statistics about London's thriving gay community. For example, approximately 8% of London men say they are gay - much higher than the figure of 3% elsewhere in the country. London also has a higher percentage of bisexuals than elsewhere (5% versus 3%).
